Adorable Adoptables 9.2.10

Each week after visiting our new adoptable friends at the Humane Society of Chittenden County I come back with a haul of 100-300 images that I whittle down and process. I  usually provide one image of each animal for the shelter to use on their website and in print, but that leaves a lot of ”keepers” collecting pixel dust on my hard drives. In an effort to get more of those heart string tugging images out there for potential adopters to see I am going to *attempt* to create a weekly post about the new adoptables available at HSCC. You never know when the right pair of eyes will come across the right animal at the right time and that connection will be made, right? I love to walk into the shelter and see empty kennels and kitty condos because that means that more animals are enjoying a home and family. When animals get adopted quickly it also frees up financial and labor resources to help other animals in need. So, feel free to pass these posts around to friends and family that may be interested in meeting these wonderful companions!

This week’s visit was short and sweet; no new dogs and just 4 new cats. That meant I could really spend some time getting to know the kitties and getting more diversity during their shoots.

Calvin has been at the shelter for 2 months and I can

Calvin has been at the shelter for 2 months and I can't figure out why no one has fallen head over heels for him yet. He is one of the most patient cats I have ever met, he purrs all the time and LOVES people and other cats. He is the epitome of the ultra-cool orange tabby. Adopt him now and you'll have sunshine all winter!

If any of these sweet souls has touched your heart, give the shelter a call at 802-862-0135 or visit them at www.chittendenhumane.org. If you’ve met any of them feel free to post a comment letting others know how special shelter animals really are.

Peace and Furballs,

~Kelly

Love your work to help promote the shelter/rescue animals find new homes. Love your photography! I have rescue cats and a rescue dog, and hope more folks will wake up in the morning with one more face to love who loves them back!
