‘Tis the Season – For Puppies and Kittens!

As many of you know, my husband, Ian, and I volunteer with the Humane Society of Chittenden County by photographing of all their newly adoptable dogs, cats, and small critters.  Each Thursday is our day to meet all of these new friends.  At the top of my priority list is getting shots of the adult animals that HSCC can use for each animal’s biography page on the web site.  Lower down on that list of priorities is getting shots of the puppies and kittens.  These younger animals generally don’t make it to the web site because they’re adopted out so quickly.  So, quite often I run out of time before we can get to the little ones.  Though, like any work situation (paid or volunteer), there are good weeks.  Weeks when there aren’t too many new friends to meet.  I say that making fewer new friends is good because wouldn’t it be great if there were no strays to take in or hoarding cases to investigate?  But that’s a different subject for another day…  It’s during these slow weeks when I get the chance to set a little time aside for the babies.  The last couple weeks have been pretty good indeed!

If you have just welcomed a lovey, snuggly, silly puppy or kitten into your home recently and you’d love to have priceless moments like these captured, contact me to inquire about my specials for growing youngsters. We’ll set up a few sessions over the course of the next year to capture your babe’s adorable awkwardness and blossoming personality and at the end I’ll put together a special wall display or album that is sure to elicit giggles and “awwww”s for years to come!

Ian and I adopted our first baby dog together last spring and now that he’s all grown up I treasure the portraits that I made of him on his journey to big dog. It’s so much fun to remember him when he was all round, small, and wiggly. They’re my very favorite images of him, for sure.

Peace and Furballs,

~Kelly

Awwww! Kelly you always do such an amazing job with animals. When ever anyone asks if I photograph pets, I say, “NOPE! But you should meet my friend Kelly…WOW!” These furbabies are just so adorable. Thank you for sharing!
